Job description:

  • CompuZign Consulting Inc. is seeking a skilled Storage Engineer to enhance our team. In this pivotal role, you'll be responsible for managing and optimizing our storage infrastructure, ensuring its high availability and peak performance. Your duties will include developing, testing, and implementing sophisticated backup and disaster recovery solutions tailored to our needs.
  • As the ideal candidate for this position at CompuZign, you should hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, complemented by several years of experience in a storage engineering capacity. Essential to this role is a robust understanding of various storage technologies, including SAN, NAS, Fibre Channel, iSCSI, and FCIP. Familiarity with disaster recovery principles and proficiency in scripting, automation, and system integration is crucial.

Responsibilities:

  • In this role, you will maintain and optimize our storage infrastructure to ensure high availability and performance.
  • You will also be responsible for developing, testing, and implementing backup and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Design and implement robust storage solutions, including SAN, NAS, and cloud storage systems, to meet organizational needs.
  • Manage and optimize data storage infrastructure, ensuring high availability, disaster recovery, and efficient data management.
  • Perform complex troubleshooting and provide resolution for storage-related issues, collaborating closely with IT teams to ensure minimal impact on operations.
  • Work in tandem with network administrators and system engineers to integrate storage solutions seamlessly with other IT infrastructure components.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain storage policies, procedures, and best practices, ensuring compliance with industry standards and organizational requirements.
  • Collaborate with clients to assess their storage needs, design customized solutions, and advocate for the adoption of our storage technologies.

Requirements:

  • The ideal candidate for this position has a Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, as well as several years of experience working in a storage engineering/storage administration role.
  • Solid foundation in storage architecture, design, and implementation.
  • You must have a strong understanding of storage technologies, including SAN, NAS, Fibre Channel, iSCSI, and FCIP.
  • You should also be familiar with disaster recovery principles and have experience in scripting, automation, and system integration.
  • You should be a highly organized and motivated individual with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • You should also be a self-starter, capable of working independently and as part of a team.
  • Senior years of experience in Infrastructure Management or System Management experience, deploying and managing virtualized systems, Active Directory, SCCM, M365, and AzureAD; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
  • Willingness to participate in on-call rotations and execute upgrades during non-business hours as needed.

Preferred Experience:

  • Extensive experience in managing and designing enterprise-level storage environments.
  • Proficiency in various storage technologies and vendors (e.g., Dell EMC, NetApp, HPE).
  • Expertise in cloud storage platforms (AWS S3, Azure Blob Storage, Google Cloud Storage) and hybrid storage models.
  • Strong understanding of data replication, synchronization technologies, and disaster recovery planning.
  • In-depth knowledge of file systems, RAID configurations, and storage protocols (iSCSI, NFS, SMB/CIFS).

Job Details, Location & Work Hours:

  • On-Site / 9 am to 5 pm (Mon to Fri)
  • Collaboration with IT teams and various departments is essential.
