Job description:
- CompuZign Consulting Inc. is looking for a skilled IT Systems Administrator to join our dynamic team. This role is crucial for maintaining and optimizing our IT infrastructure, ensuring high performance and reliability to support our business operations and client services.
- As an IT Systems Administrator, you will play a key role in managing and maintaining our IT systems. Your responsibilities will include overseeing server performance, ensuring network security, implementing system upgrades, and providing effective solutions to any IT-related issues.

Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain servers, networks, and related computing environments, including systems software, applications software, hardware, and configurations.
- Perform routine/scheduled audits of the systems, including all backups.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware, software, or other network and system problems, and replace defective components when necessary.
- Ensure network security and connectivity, monitor network performance, and configure network settings.
- Plan, coordinate, and implement network security measures to protect data, software, and hardware.
- Operate master consoles to monitor the performance of computer systems and networks, and to coordinate computer network access and use.
- Coordinate with vendors and with company personnel to facilitate purchases and support.
- Conduct research and make recommendations on products, services, protocols, and standards in support of all infrastructure procurement and development efforts.
- Assists with basic software installations and upgrades to operating systems and layered software packages
- Assists with monitoring and tuning of systems to achieve optimum performance levels.
- Aids with ensuring workstation/server data integrity by implementing standard software and hardware solutions.
- Helps ensure data/media recoverability by following a schedule of system backups and database archive operations.
- Assists with basic hardware and software audits of workstations and servers to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines.
- Helps to ensure that the performance and security of computers meet the needs of network users.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, System Administration, or a closely related field, or equivalent experience required.
- 1-3 years of network administration, or system administration experience.
- System administration and IT certifications in Linux, Microsoft, or other network-related fields are a plus.
- Strong understanding of computer network infrastructure.
- Ability to keep up with technical innovation and trends in IT support.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- The candidate should be able to get their way around Linux and get things to work.
- Experience with performance tuning, capacity planning, and workload mapping
- Experience with handling job queues for multi-tenant environments with different levels of priorities and SLAs
- Experience with complex networking infrastructure including firewalls, VLANs, and load balancers
- Experience in using automation tools such as Puppet and Chef
- Experience working on NoSQL and Search technologies
- Knowledge of best practices related to security, performance, and disaster recovery.
Skills & Abilities:
- Strong knowledge of systems and networking software, hardware, and networking protocols.
- Experience with scripting and automation tools.
- A proven track record of developing and implementing IT strategies and plans.
- Strong knowledge of implementing and effectively developing helpdesk and IT operations best practices, including expert knowledge of security, storage, data protection, and disaster recovery protocols.

Job Details, Location & Work Hours:
- On-Site / 9 am to 5 pm (Mon to Fri)
- Collaboration with IT teams and various departments is essential.
- Occasional on-call duties may be required to address urgent system issues.
